Key Takeaways

Life is admittedly heavy right now. If you’re anything like me, you feel guilty enjoying your life all the while knowing how many people are suffering right now, particularly in Ukraine (though if you follow the news, you know that the hardships are unfortunately not reserved to just that country).
Today on the show I’m joined by Caitlin Murray of Big Time Adulting. Caitlin is all about real, raw observations of motherhood, and she does so with a lot of humor. 3 years ago, Caitlin’s eldest son, Callum, was diagnosed with cancer when he was just 3 years old. Happily, after 3 years of treatment, he is cancer-free.
But in that process, Caitlin learned a lot about what joy means, and how to find it even in moments of great despair. The lessons she took from her experience being a mother to a child with cancer can most certainly be applied to what’s happening in the world right now.
This episode is a candid and uplifting conversation about finding the light in the dark, as well as some hard hitting talking points about mom guilt, relationships and other realities of motherhood.

Caitlin is a creator, writer, humorist and mother of three children, from whom she derives her material. Her experiences as a mother, particularly as caregiver to a child with cancer, have shaped her perspective and role in life. Her goals are to help mothers feel validated and to laugh a lot.

Caitlin is also the host of Big Time Adulting, a podcast that takes it deep on parenthood, adulthood, womanhood, and whatever other things end in the hood.
