How to Find the Flow in Parenting, Marriage & Business with Hallmark Star, Andrew Walker and Mompreneur Cassandra Troy Walker

EPISODE: 65  |    DATE: December 16, 2021

“I’m a better parent, I’m a more patient partner and parent – and I know Cassandra is the same way – when we do take our own time for self care. It’s like driving an airplane: you push forward to go down; you pull back to go up. You want to keep pulling back a little bit and things will feel lighter.”

Key Takeaways

Christmas is in the air, and nothing really says Christmas more than a date night with a Hallmark Channel Christmas movie, does it? Ok, there are a few other things. But this one is right at the top of the merriest things on the list to get everyone in the festive spirit!

If you’re a fan of heartwarming films – especially around the holidays – and you’re interested in learning more about the faces behind the characters, you’re in luck. Because today I’m joined by Hallmark Channel star, Andrew Walker – the star of My Family Christmas Tree – and his lovely wife and mompreneur, Cassandra Troy Walker.

Together, Andrew and Cassandra are partners in love, parenting and business!

Both in Montreal, Cassandra & Andrew have been together for over 18 years and came into their relationship with a shared passion for food, wine and great culinary experiences.

Andrew came to Los Angeles as an actor in 2001 and has been successfully acting and producing ever since.

Cassandra thrived in the high-end fashion industry until she and Andrew decided to make a change and open up a cold pressed juice company called Little West! Cassandra’s love for sharing nutrient-rich great tasting food with everyone around her was the inspiration for Little West. Their goal is to make a healthy lifestyle approachable and accessible to everyone.

Since becoming parents to their sons West and Wolf, and realizing the importance of teaching kids about real food, Little West donates a percentage of all sales to Big Green Learning Gardens (biggreen.org). They believe that together they can make a difference, whether it be by inspiring kids to try new fruits and veggies, or adults to have more fun in the kitchen, food that’s good for you should always be fun and taste great.

I asked if Andrew and Cassandra would be willing to share their personal experiences as parents, business partners and husband and wife.

They have graciously done just that, and today on the show we discuss:

  1. Their secret sauce to coparenting and running a business together.
  2. Their two key ingredients for finding flow in all aspects of their lives.
  3. The importance of self care when it comes to the strength of their relationship.
  4. The high standards us mothers tend to hold ourselves to and how it can be detrimental to the health of a romantic relationship.
  5. Their respective approaches to parenting and discipline and how they have clashed in the past.
  6. How parenting has strengthened their relationship.
  7. How they nearly lost everything in their business and how it effectively made them stronger as a couple and as parents.
  8. How running their own business prepared them for parenting.

Tune in for this wonderful, candid, honest conversation with two of the sweetest, kindest and successful people you will ever have the pleasure of spending time with.

Be sure to stay tuned to the end for a special discount on Little West juices just for The Mom Feed audience!

Happy holidays to you and yours! May you find everything merry and bright! xoxo
